PEP TALK: NEVER GIVE UP

Sometimes we find ourselves surrounded with unfinished projects, that sit around taunting our confidence. This is okay, it happens to everyone. You have a wonderful burst of inspiration and decide to ride that feeling in high hopes of what it could into, until… we lose motivation. Suddenly those bright light bulbs that once went off begin to dim and eventually… shut off. So then what do we do next? Sometimes we make excuses for ourselves and promise that next time will be different. This is the problem that puts us in a cycle untapped potential and empty promises of creativity. So what do we do to break this cycle? Well, let's start with the first step…
Return to past projects:
If you are surrounded by unfinished business, the best way to combat it is to finish that business. Find past projects that were never fulfilled, and take the time to remind yourself of the inspiration that brought these in the first place. I mean, you already did half the work, so it won’t be as hard as you think. The best part about this step is the amazing feeling of accomplishment it will bring you afterward.
Which brings us to the next step…
Revel in your new confidence:
Once you’ve proved to yourself that the unfinished projects that haunted you once actually had a purpose, you will have newfound confidence going into future projects. Use that confidence to set new goals, ideas, and plans for the future. Because this time, you know they will be worth the hard work.
Now for the final, cheesy, step…
NEVER GIVE UP:
Simple as that. Make a promise to yourself that every new idea is not just an idea, but a commitment. So commit to it fully with the confidence you now have to back it up. Never worry if its too late to finish what you’ve started because the truth is— its never too late. Don’t. Give. Up. If you live by this rule, it will only bring you closer and closer to the life you want to live.
So if you ever feel like you are stuck in a rut, or feeling down on the list of goals you’ve yet to accomplish… look back at these steps and make them a priority. Hopefully, this will help you create a change in your life that you’ve been looking for.

This is true. I did this a few times, and created some amazing projects. You definitely have to remember the inspiration that brought you to start, and now that you've done something, it's easier to finish. It's definitely easier to finish, when you've already started than to finish what you never started. Once you start, at least you have a direction, so you know where you're going, you just have to get there. -
Great advice! I’m going to have to try this. Those back-logged projects can really stack up, huh?

Hey Emily! I like what you're saying here and it makes a lot of sense. Committing to something and finishing it, is definitely a very important value. There are so many things we don't give closure to, and it often times feels like it's all accumulating in the back of our heads. I wrote some stuff kind of related to this. Feel free to check it out. Great work!
