First off- let's slash this out of the way to begin with and then we'll go from there.

SATANISM IS NOT DEVIL WORSHIP.

However, they have definetly managed to make the Church of God believe so. By Church of God I mean all dominations of Christianity- every single church preaches against the devil and the tenants of Satanism. However the congregations never actually have read the Satanic Bible. It actually has very little to do with demons or devil worship at all. Of course these things are permitted, due to the fact that Satanism does not condem what it's followers choose to do in their free time.

This Week on You Didn't Know You Were a Satanist

Let us start with the basis of every religion- it's rules on what you can and cannot do. I'm going to copy the rules from the Satanic Bible and add how the Church of Satan tends to interpret those rules to mean. There are 7 fundamental tenants to follow if you are going to pledge yourself a Satanist.

One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

-Essentially be kind to all those you meet- both animal and human within reason. If someone is rude to you without provocation there is no need to continue being nice.

The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

-If the law is not providing justice to you, you are permitted to take matters into your own hands. Obviously I am not suggesting you do so as times have changed and you will probably get arrested. But you do you.

One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

-No one is permitted to control your body- you do whatever you like from tattoos to dying your eyeballs a different color. It is your body and therefore your own right.

The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.

-Freedom of all. So long as you do not interfere with the freedom of others then there should be no problem. Should you infringe on the freedom of others, then you forfiet your right to freedom. This includes the fact that you have the freedom to offend other people.

Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

-Science is science. Don't try to change proven facts just because they don't agree with your religious ideologies.

People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

-Stuff happens and mistakes occur. No human is perfect and nor ever will be. When a mistake is made, try to fix the mistake and accomodate to the outcome the best you can.

Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

-These are not rules, more of guidlines. You should always do what is right over what someone says or writes.

Those are the tenants or guiding ideaologies. However let's get into more rules and regulations- because like any religion there is always more to come.

9 Satanic Statements

1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!

       - Don't abstain- indulge in what you can. Sex, food, sleep, etc.

2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams!

       - Focus on the here and now. What the spirit does after death has no play on the now.

3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit!

         - True facts, not whatever you use to convince yourself you are right.

4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!

         - What other do unto you, you do unto them.

5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek!

       - Seek your own justice.

6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires!

        - Be responsible for your own actions.

7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his β€œdivine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!

         - Just because you have opposable thumbs does not mean you are better than animals.

8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!

         - Gratify yourself on this earth.

9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it in business all these years!

        - Servicing yourself, rather than a God in the sky keeps the church of God in business.

11 Satanic Rules

1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.

2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.

3. When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.

4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.

5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.

6. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.

7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.

8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.

9. Do not harm little children.

10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.

11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

9 Satanic Sins

1. Stupidity

Stop going with the flow and find the answers yourself.

2. Pretentiousness

Don't make yourself out to be larger than you are.

3. Solipsism

Do not try to force your ideas down someone else's throat.

4. Self-deceit

Do not decieve yourself from the truth.

5. Herd Conformity

Do not follow the herd. You may agree but do not conform totally.

6. Lack of Perspective

You are making history. Do not create a narrow minded existence that you do not affect anything.

7. Forgetfulness of Past Orthodoxies

Do not be fooled by shiny things. If it is an old idea, presented in a new way- do not forget the original.

8. Counterproductive Pride

Do not be afraid to admit you are wrong.

9. Lack of Aesthetics

You should chose things that are pleasing to you, not what is pleasing to society.

All in all satanism? It's honestly just a form of worship of the self. There is no higher power. Take care of your own and move on.
