The ache
To connect
To reach out for
and grab hold of
To laugh easily
For a smile so genuine
it reaches the eyes
To see one speak words
To indulge
To sleep peacefully
and wake with optimism
To play without abandon
To think unburdened thoughts
To feel united
To see things unseen
To show love for
and feel love received
To take off the mask
Unafraid
To remember better times
To commit

To place backburner dreams

at the forefront.

To live.

Words far too many people can relate to after these past two years of Covid. Thanks for sharing 🧡

The country wants to move on and I can't say I blame them, but for parents of young children not able to get vaccinated that are high risk, the nightmare is just getting worse. Mask mandates are being lifted and that promises several more months of fear and isolation for those in similar situations as myself. I know it's hard for people to sympathize as they have all had struggles as well and just want things to be normal again, I just wish they could understand and be kind. I have to wear my mask and so does my family. It's not a political statement, it's to protect my baby. Families like mine need kindness and compassion when we are out with our masks, but instead we get nasty looks and comments. I took my daughter to the Christmas parade right before omicron. It was her first parade and she was so excited. But then we noticed that the people throwing candy kept passing her by, throwing candy to all of the unmasked children and looking at me and my daughter with disdain. Our country needs to come together and support each other, but families like ours are just being left behind and disregarded. I feel so sad for my children. They just want to go out and feel safe without being mocked and looked down upon.

I agree completely, Miranda. We should all support one another because you never know what someone else is going through and the reasons they have behind what they do. I’m sorry your family has had those bad experiences. I know that’s hard on you as a mom. Hugs to you!
