I was feeling a bit nostalgic.
I gave in... I now have the cooties. It's not bad at all, actually. It comes with mushy kisses and "lazy days" with the one you love.
What did you like about the holidays as a child?
FULL TEXT:
As a child,
on Christmas Evenings,
I’d gaze at the Sparkling Apple Cider on the table
The chandelier’s glow,
in Grandma’s dining room,
lime lighted the gold wrapping on the curvy bottle.
Mama’s fierce looks of,
“I know you bet’ not touch”
Kept my hands in my pockets for sure.
What can I say,
I’ve got a thing for innocent bubbly’s,
The sweet, tangy fuzzes
tickling my taste buds.
I’ve got a thing for Grandma’s
Sweet potato pie,
December navy blue skies
and
Soulful Christmas carols.
On Christmas Evenings,
I had my cootie shots.
Didn’t care for mistletoe kisses.
I preferred parting lips to welcome
Chocolate kisses
and drawing hearts on mist covered windows.
I still draw hearts on mist covered windows.
I still draw hearts.
Thanks, Angie! I appreciate your comment. I will soon :)
