In the way you are completely in control

Your life is always yours

You are beautiful

You are enough

Lose yourself in the beautiful things

But don’t lose yourself for him

Don’t change yourself for him

Never lose the way you used to laugh

The way you used to smile

The good energy you used to generate

Don’t change how hard you love your family

Don’t push the things you love away

Don’t change anything about yourself

To try and fix something that’s irreparable

Stop hiding the bruises with makeup

Stop making excuses for his actions

It’s hard to leave but harder to stay

I know, I have lived that life

So if you’ve already lost yourself

If you’ve already changed

If your bridges are already almost burnt

This is me telling you, one survivor to another

You can turn around today

You don’t have to stay

Your life will not end though it may feel like it

Before you know it your bridges reconnect

You can laugh again

You can smile again

No more bruises, no more pain

And slowly but surely

You can lose yourself in the waves again

And feel like your enough.
