Tell me your story, I want to hear your name,

Whisper to me your secrets, and let me do the same,

Let me be your shoulder, your pillar in the night,

Give me reign to support you, to help you through your fight,

I do not want to keep you, I only wish to see,

What the future will hold if you simply let it be,

Will you share yourself with me, do you want to let me in?

Is it safe for me to share too, are you ready to begin?

Friendship is all I am seeking, no need to run away,

Who knows what you could find if you took the time to stay,

It must be lonely always on your own,

Let me change that for you, compassion can replace the fear you have known,

Just one word is all it will take to show you how it could be,

Will you take the chance today, will you share you with me?

Great work! I hope you have that kind of relationship with someone. A good Valentines Day Sentiment.

Thank you, James. I think ramantic or friendship we all need someone to turn to and be ourselves with. Have a wonderful day.

This reminds me as the bed-time stories or the little words your parents said to you as a kid when trying to get you to sleep at night, and then they put the covers over you while you're sleep. This is so comforting and filled with so much love. The way you connected these words together to provoke such thought and to paint such imagery.

David, thank you for your kind words. I am glad you enjoyed it and that it brought you such fond memories. It is always nice to see the emotions provoked by ones work. Again, thank you. Have a wonderful day.

I love this, and the fact that it's about a friendship, and not anything romantically related. Friendship is sometimes so underappreciated, and often times people don't realize there's so much love and intimacy in friendships. I love how you illustrated this here. This also reminds me of being in elementary school or early grade school and either being that kid with no friends and no one wanting to play with or seeing that kid, and then letting them know you want to be their friend, and there is beauty in the world, in what they may see as darkness, and you want to show them there's more to the world and better out there, and you can be the first step into that.

We often think cutting ourselves off from the world will help but it just makes everything worse. It's always better to open up to new people in my opinion. Thanks for sharing this Mary!

Tomas, I completely agree that opening ourselves to new people is essential. Unfortunately, too many hide behind the scars of their past endeavors, denying themselves the joy of the future. Thank you, for your support and have a great week.
