SHALLOW GRAVE:

ONCE COLORED FOLIAGE FALLS TO THE GROUND

FROST BEGINS TO COVER THE FOREST FLOOR

ONLY THE CALL OF THE CROWS; NO OTHER SOUND

FAR IN THE WOODS; SOMEWHERE NOBODY EXPLORES

THE COLDER IT GROWS; THE FIRMER THE DIRT

WIND BEGINS TO BLOW; FLURRIES OF SNOW PASS BY

THE DAYLIGHT BRINGS WAMRTH; THE FROST REVERTS

WANDERERS COULD EASILY FIND WHAT'S BELOW THE FLIES

WOKEN BY THE CHANCE THAT IT IS WORTH ONE MORE TRY

NAILS SCRATCH THE SURFACE OF THE SHALLOW GRAVE

WHAT REACHES THE SURFACE; HE THOUGHT IT WOULD DIE

NOW IT'S COMING FOR HIM JUST LIKE A TIDAL WAVE

ONLY ONE HAND REACHES FOR THE FRIGID AIR

FROZEN FINGERS APPEARED BEFORE THE BODY AROSE

THE BLACKENED EYES OF DEATH CAN KILL WITH A STARE

FINALLY, YOU CAN SEE THAT I DIDN'T DECOMPOSE
