Hi jackie, the terms are very good. Best I’ve heard of (70/30 in writer’s favor) but comes with a lot of trade off. They’re very small potatoes as far as what they’re willing to do for you post-publication. It feels like any marketing done had been by me. They’re not very responsive and broke contract deadlines left and right. They only pay out once a year so I don’t have any idea how the book is doing. They make it difficult for small bookstores to carry because they don’t allow shelf consignment. However the team is talented at what they do. I love my cover and the editor is very knowledgeable and connected. There was no investment on my end other than marketing efforts after the book was released.

Lisa, well, I wish you much success with your novel. You sound like a determined writer, which is very good. If you ever have more publishing needs, I recommend you check out Kindle Direct Publishing. I published two novels this way. Since I’m not a real techie type of person, it took me a bit to learn the ins and outs, but well worth it. No charge to upload your manuscript, although you need to design your own covers (easy to do using Canva app). Distribution is large coverage, your book lists for sale in Amazon bookstore, author copies (which is the main reason I did it) are very inexpensive (a 240 page novel costs me $3 and change per copy, I buy them for book signings) definitely worth checking out.
