A BRIEF THOUGHT ON WRITING

I find that I cannot speak on anyone else's behalf, even if others do share my experience as a writer. However, I will share a little of how things are for me. It is only when I feel I don't have to write, that I can write. In those impractical snippets of time when one cannot do "real work," when I am not writing as if it is now my full-time, money-making job, but rather doing it as if plunging into a fantastic dream, is when real writing happens.

Even for poetry, I quote Anna Laetitia Barbauld: "This dead of midnight is the noon of thought, / And wisdom mounts her zenith with the stars."

This is so true! Many times creativity kicks in out of nowhere, when I'm not even trying to write/create anything. Thanks for sharing!

I'm happy to hear someone else relates! Looking forward to hearing/reading more of your creative things!

I feel the same way! If I "have to" write, I struggle to get the motivation to start.

Keeping the work writing and the joy writing separately is so important and difficult.
