Two cigarette legs

And a glass of wine

Fluorescent lights

Reflect off her chershire-toothed face

Stems do a criss cross

Crissing into someone’s crotch

Two dollars for a whisky

One for a smile

Three for a cab

Ten for a while

Criss cross out

Picking her teeth

Headed back to the slick

Headed back to the reef

Many fishies in the sea

Many fishies in the sea

No need to speak

Just criss cross

And flash those kitty cat teeth

Too poor to borrow

Too pretty to beg

She makes her dime

With her criss cross legs.

  • This is beautiful and sad at the same time. The way you whimsically painted her story through the words and the perfect criss-cross theme is just beautiful.

You really painted a picture with your writing. A sad situation turned into poetry. Great one!
