Don't you see?
The Pain pouring out of me,
hurting is my job.
I take the pain away.
Take the pain and run so you don't have to.
Never did I think too much would come too soon.
I thought I could take all the pain away,
all away from you.
Never did I think that taking away your pain
would take me away too.
I tried so hard to be strong for me and
for you.
Only to end up losing me after numbingly saving you.
Now I'm gone and left you alone to be strong.
When we could have helped each other
with this pain all along.

Good, clear rhyming. And what an important message to have. We shouldn't lose ourselves in caring for others.

This poem could make great lyrics. Are you a musician by any chance?

Some people are just a bottomless pit of despair and no matter what you do, they will always need more from you than any person should ever be expected to give. I tend to be a magnet to these types and it is so hard to get out of such a depleting cycle, but you can only do so much for others without losing yourself completely. Great piece!
