Now look I respect the fact this woman did a shit load of research, I respect she got up there and tried to explain her decision and how she came to it. So, we need to give the woman credit for making an informed and very hard decision whether we agree with it or not. I got news for the world we are all not going to always agree. In fact, in every single decision, there will always be a few that oppose. It’s called humanity and life. So, we need to stop crucifying Susan Collins because she made a decision based on the facts before her.

However, as much as I respect her decision I also believe she fell short of the message here that some of the people are trying to convey here. Life is not about winning and losing here as Trump would like us to think. Life is about living, period. You don’t need to win or lose to live. Just live but you must allow others to live as well. Otherwise, you are too busy trying to live their life instead of yours.

Sounds simple right? Well, it’s a lot harder than it sounds because we as humans have this very annoying feeling to care about right and wrong. We care about others and about common ground. This is what is missing and what is ripping this country apart right not, common ground. We were losing it before Trump got elected to office and now, it’s gone.

All we see here is competition to who has the upper hand, who can beat the other, who is superior, and who got the last, “I got you last.” This is not what we elected our officials to do. This is not what we are paying them to do. This is also certainly not the way I expect the now formally known as distinguished representatives to behave. Some call this unprecedented but I am so sick of hearing that fucking word. That is a word is too distinguished for what is going on and doesn’t deserve to be used so let’s call it what it really is, FUCKED UP BULLSHIT!

The missed message and opportunity Susan Collins had was to be that face of truce. To say they look whether or not the nominee is qualified, and whether or not he is innocent doesn’t matter. What matters is how to fix our divided country and if this guy is causing this much division within all of us and the country maybe he is not the right person for right now. That doesn’t mean he won’t be the right person in the future but right now we need unity to set the example back to this country we are the right people to represent them and bring this country back together.

This was a moment to try and heal and set aside the pride of the party and bring back the pride of the country. This was a moment to say to her fellow Republicans maybe we can find a candidate just as qualified that we all can agree and take some pride in. I know, I know you say Democrats aren’t going to agree on anyone because they are extremist. Well, if you continue to insult each other of course.

The point is it has to start with someone and that someone has to be humble enough to take whatever hits that come their way for trying to work across party lines in an attempt at bipartisanship. That person has to be strong enough to get knocked down, get back up, and keep trying.

I am not saying Susan Collins decision was wrong here. What I am saying is all of our representatives we elected to lead failed to lead by not finding that common ground. For those who say they tried but couldn’t well then maybe then they need to step down from leadership and allow us to put the people in that can. If you care about this country and us like you say you do, then show it.
